Should Bishop Monkton Parish Council change its name?
Civil parish councils were formed in England under the reforming Local Government Act 1894.
However, the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 allows parish councils to style themselves slightly differently, such as a ‘Village’ or ‘Community’ council for instance and we’re keen to understand if Bishop Monkton would like us to move in that direction.
We have put a survey together here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FXG5T88 to gather your views.
It’s a short survey with only four questions so will not take very much of your time. So, make your views known and be part of the future direction of the council and the village.
