New for Old….
The village has had a little bit of a makeover, courtesy of the North Yorkshire Council Highways Department! Read on to see where and how....

A little while ago, we approached NYC Highways Area 6 to ask for fresh street signs given the poor repair of quite a number of them and we’re pleased to say that Highways have responded brilliantly.
We had 15 new signs fitted in a bit of a blitz last week and they replaced some pretty old, faded and rotted examples. All the replaced signs now have steel mounts and whilst they might not look quite as nice as the wooden mounts of old, will certainly look better for longer! The following areas had their signs replaced:
- Lawnfield Road
- Butterfield Close
- Renton Close
- Claremont Lane (before and after pictured!)
- Main St (top and bottom)
- St John’s Road
- Boroughbridge Road
- Sycamore Close
- Meadowcroft Drive
- Melrose Crescent
- St John’s Way
- St John’s Crescent
- St John’s Close
- St John’s Road
