Bishop Monkton Neighbourhood Development Plan

The Bishop Monkton Neighbourhood Development Plan is now moving from idea to action, with a detailed project plan setting out how the village will shape its future over the next two years. The plan outlines the steps the Parish Council, working group, volunteers and specialist consultants will take to gather evidence, consult residents, and develop a community‑led vision for how Bishop Monkton should evolve. The next opportunity for residents to contribute to this community focussed plan is Saturday 20 June at the Methodist Chapel 10 – 12 am.

From early public engagement and data‑gathering to formal consultation, examination and referendum, the project plan provides a clear roadmap to ensure the NDP is thorough, transparent and rooted in local priorities. This marks an important milestone for the village as it begins the process of influencing future planning decisions and protecting what makes Bishop Monkton special.  See the draft project plan below.
