Let there be light… on the St John’s Road defibrillator.

At the request of the guardian, the parish council have provided lighting to make use of the defibrillator a little easier in an emergency. Click the article to find out more...

We were recently asked by the defibrillator guardian, Sue Edmond, whether we could install lighting over the device as the location is quite dark at night and the fear was that in an emergency, a responder might not be able to see the code or the unlocking device quickly and clearly.

We’re glad to report that both Gary Cross of the Masons Arms and Rick Costelloe stepped up to help. Gary already allows the defibrillator to be mounted on the pub wall and also supplies the power to it at no cost to the council. Rick had some ideas on the type of lamp that would work well and procured and fitted on our behalf, a PIR operated lamp that provides enough light when activated to illuminate the defibrillator box without flooding the area. Once again, Gary agreed to the mounting and power supply.

Thanks to our civic minded friends, Sue, Gary and Rick for helping us make the village that little bit safer.
