Highlights
Annual Parish Meeting: The meeting this year has been set for the 28th May. The venue will be the Village Hall as usual and refreshments will be provided.
Neighbourhood plan: the structure for the Neighbourhood planning group has been confirmed and the group will be moving ahead soonest.
Pedestrian signs – Moor Road: New pedestrian warning signs have now been installed on Moor Road. These cover the most hazardous stretch — the bend between Knaresborough Road and Red House Gardens — where visibility is poor and foot traffic is at greater risk.
The Parish Council will also be asking North Yorkshire Highways to add an additional sign near the A61 junction, where pedestrian safety remains a concern.
HGV Watch: We’re making good progress, and several companies have responded positively when notified about breaches. However, more work is needed. Please report any HGVs using the village as a shortcut by sending the registration number and company name — photos are especially helpful — to HGVWatch@bishopmonkton-pc.gov.uk.
Planning Enforcement Working Group: The Group have commenced monitoring the Church Farm Developer to ensure compliance with the Construction Plan. Members of the group have reported several potential breeches to the Planning Authority and will continue to monitor things like vehicle movements outside of the permitted hours.
