Highlights

Mains Lane / Caddick Development
The Parish Council has prepared a comprehensive objection to the Mains Lane / Caddick development. A summary and the full objection document can be found here. We are disappointed that, despite being submitted before the deadline, the objection has still not been uploaded to the North Yorkshire Council Planning Portal, whilst later submissions are already visible. The Council has requested information on several occasions without success and has now lodged a formal complaint with North Yorkshire Council.

Neighbourhood Development Plan – Traffic Monitoring Study
Details of the study can be found here, and the supporting CCTV policy can be found here. The Parish Council welcomes all feedback on the study proposals.

Christmas Tree
The Parish Council has approved plans for the annual Christmas tree and festive lighting along the beck.

Ford Willow Tree
The Parish Council has been working with North Yorkshire Council to establish ownership of the willow tree at the ford. It now appears, based on precedent, that responsibility rests with the Parish Council. The tree is currently protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). The Parish Council will work with North Yorkshire Council to arrange a fast-track TPO application to allow essential safety work to be undertaken.

Village Hall Play Area
A safety inspection is due to take place shortly. Any necessary remedial work identified will be carried out by the Parish Council.
