Highlights

Village Waste Bins: We’ve previously highlighted that we were going to approach North Yorkshire Council to revisit Harrogate Borough Council’s decision not to provide a bin at the layby on the A61. Following feedback from residents at the Annual Parish Meeting, we are going to include other areas in the mix; Mains Lane and Boroughbridge Road beyond Renton Close – both locations being popular with dog walkers. We’re in the process of arranging a site visit and will discuss options.

Result of the Call for Sites: Feedback from the Annual Parish Meeting emphasised the importance for the council to get ahead of the curve having been too late to react the last local plan development. The first steps will be to get together to establish a strategy and work on a position. Further engagement with BMAG and the village as a whole will follow.

Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS): The council is pleased to report that the joint venture between the Village Hall and the PC is moving forward. The VAS signs from the vendor and the enabling works by NYC have been ordered and we look forward to the installation and the potential to make the village that little bit more safe for residents.
